Here at Hidden UK Gems, we are big fans of a good café. Over the years, as the high street has continued to change, the trusty café has been a mainstay. The heartbeat of communities, and one of the most versatile places you will find. Whether you're looking for a change of scenery when remote working, a catch up with friends, a takeaway on the school run, coffee & cake when you need a pick me up, a first date, or a solitary moment of peace and calm with a good book, you can't go wrong in a café. We are super proud of those in our collection, each offering something different, but all alike in their passion to deliver the best service and produce, and the welcoming atmosphere they all share. We've listed them below so you can find out more and rest assured, whichever one you decide to visit first, you'll be in safe hands!

Brown Cow Food, Chipping Norton

Sister company to renowned Brown Cow Events, Brown Cow Food is a charming eatery located on Middle Row, in the heart of Chipping Norton. This independent gem is one of the most welcoming places you will visit in the Cotswolds, serving up delicious food to either eat in, or takeaway. This is somewhere you will feel instantly relaxed and at home, and no doubt want to return again & again.

Woodruffs, Stroud

If you have walked down Stroud High Street at any point during the last 26 years, chances are you will have seen Woodruffs Café. A staple in the community since back in the 90’s, when they were at the forefront of organic eateries, Woodruffs continues to use organic ingredients where possible and insists on high quality products throughout. Using local, seasonal ingredients as much as possible, to serve up delicious breakfast, brunch & lunch options, and of course, seriously good coffee, Woodruffs is one of our favourites around.

Felt Café, Stroud

Felt café is a fantastic, independent, family run establishment. Tucked away by the water in Brimscombe, Stroud, this a place where high quality can be seen throughout. Owner Clair and her team ensure everyone is met with a smile and the food and drinks are made with the best ingredients. To make it even better, the waterside location is perfect. Its name comes from the history of the building, as it used to be a mill where felt was made for billiard tables and army uniforms.

Rixy's Cotswold Tearoom, Moreton-In-Marsh

Located in the middle of the High Street in Moreton-in-Marsh is Rixy’s Cotswold Tearoom. Sarah, Tom, Abi and their friendly team provide freshly made breakfast, lunch and sweet treats, six days a week (closed on Wednesdays). Housed in a grade two listed, 1640’s building, there is plenty of seating inside for groups of all sizes. To the back, there is a courtyard garden that seats up to 16, which is a real sun trap and the perfect place to sit back and sip on a drink from their full menu of beer, wine and gin, all English and sourced as locally as possible.
