Where To Stay

For waterside calm, Trewince on the Roseland Peninsula serves up woodland lodges with estuary views and a private path to the sea. If you want something wildly stylish, Black Moon in St Ives is part boutique bolthole, part Bond villain’s lair, with floor-to-ceiling glass and the waves crashing below. Families and couples alike will love Sleepy Owl in North Devon, a dreamy spot with design-led treehouses, meadows and wood-fired hot tubs.

Over in Dartmouth, The Sail Loft has nailed the whole coffee-by-day, wine-by-night thing, while Bar Silo in Golant is a bar-meets-farm wonderland of cocktails, foraged infusions and fairy lights.

Where To Slow Down

Between meals, head for Trevibban Mill near Padstow for organic vineyard tours, lakeside views and a tasting room you’ll struggle to leave. Or stretch it out at The Zen Den at Watergate Bay, where the yoga studio overlooks the coast and beach classes are a regular thing.

Those after something a little more off the beaten path can hire a boat from Dartmouth Boat Hire and glide down the River Dart with a picnic in tow. Or strip it all back off-grid (with a side of hot showers and compost loos) at The Paddock Wildcamp near Perranporth, just you, a firepit and a sky full of stars.
