Auchenheglish Lodges, Loch Lomond
A82, Arden, Alexandria G83 8RB
Bringing together a varied collection of self-catering properties in and around Loch Lomond, Auchenheglish Lodges offers everything from romantic waterside escapes for two to spacious holiday homes for families and larger groups. Run by Liz and Graham, the collection provides an excellent base for experiencing one of Scotland’s most famous landscapes, with many of the properties enjoying exceptional views across the loch, surrounding mountains and countryside.
At the heart of the collection are Auchenheglish’s waterside properties, where privacy and proximity to Loch Lomond are a major part of the experience. Creinch and Heron each sleep two and come with their own private beach and waterside decking, while larger options provide plenty of space for families and groups. Shore House is among the biggest, sleeping up to ten guests across five bedrooms.
There is plenty of variety beyond the traditional lodge experience too. The Coachhouse is a beautifully restored 1868 property sleeping six to eight within the private Arden Estate, while several apartments occupy the impressive Grade B listed Lomond Castle. No.8 Lomond Castle, for example, sleeps up to six and enjoys uninterrupted views towards Ben Lomond from its position on the water-facing side of the castle.
Elsewhere, Heather Cottage places guests in the heart of the picturesque conservation village of Luss, just steps from Loch Lomond. Around Rhu and Helensburgh, the collection includes contemporary Ferry Point House, offering three bedrooms, extensive private grounds and enormous expanses of glass overlooking the water, alongside Chapelhill, adding another distinctive option for guests exploring this beautiful stretch of the Clyde and Loch Lomond area.
Across the collection, fully equipped kitchens, comfortable living spaces, quality furnishings and Wi-Fi make longer stays straightforward, with many properties providing outdoor areas designed to make the most of their individual settings.
Days can be spent walking and cycling, exploring Luss and Balloch, taking a cruise across the loch or heading north towards the Highlands and west coast. Glasgow is also within easy reach.
With such a broad choice of properties, Auchenheglish Lodges makes Loch Lomond work for almost any kind of escape – whether that means two people waking beside the water, a family staying within the grounds of Lomond Castle or a larger group gathering in a spacious lochside home. Across the collection, spectacular views, carefully chosen properties and personal hospitality from Liz and the team provide the common thread, creating memorable bases from which to experience one of Scotland’s most beautiful regions.
