Camlad Valley Luxury Pods, Mid Wales
The Granary, Drewin Farm, Church Stoke, Montgomery SY15 6TW
On a working family farm in Churchstoke, where panoramic views stretch across the Mid Wales countryside and the Shropshire Hills AONB, two luxury glamping pods perch on the hillside alongside Offa’s Dyke footpath. Built by Quality Pods Wales with interiors by professional designers, the Corndon and Ridgeway pod deliver the sort of attention to detail that makes your stay feel effortless, with everything you could need and more.
The Corndon pod is the larger pod, sleeping four, provides separate double bedroom with luxury bedding and a full-height glass window framing the uninterrupted countryside views, plus bunk room featuring capsule-style bunks that delight children and adults alike. The open-plan living space includes fully fitted kitchen with breakfast bar, induction hob, oven, microwave, large fridge-freezer, and all necessary cooking equipment. Three-seater sofa and accent chair face the smart TV loaded with Netflix and Disney+, whilst statement wallpaper adds design personality. The spacious bathroom delivers walk-in shower, backlit mirror, heated radiator, luxury toiletries, towels, and two adult bathrobes.
The Ridgeway pod, sleeping two with option for additional guests on a small double sofa bed, follows similar design principles in more intimate format, double bedroom, kitchenette rather than full kitchen, otherwise matching quality and thoughtfulness. Both pods maintain comfortable temperatures year-round through efficient radiators, keeping things cool in summer and warm in winter, just how you want it.
Outside spaces prove equally considered. Wrap-around decking provides generous seating areas with barbecue facilities positioned to maximise those panoramic views. Private hot tubs sit steps away from the hobbit-style round glass doors, perfect for morning soaks overlooking valleys or evening stargazing with something fizzy. Each pod includes lawn area, firepit, and ample parking area.
The Offa’s Dyke footpath runs right past, with the Kerry Ridgeway, Long Mynd, and countless walking and cycling routes accessible from the doorstep. Corndon and Rownton Hill offer walks with summit views, whilst Montgomery Castle, Montgomeryshire Canal, and Powis Castle and Garden sit within twenty minutes’ drive. Mellington Country Hall Hotel and Kerryvale Vineyard is a short drive away or countryside walk where you can enjoy delicious food and drink options.
The working farm setting adds its own entertainment. Shetland ponies Custard and Biscuit, sheepdogs Monty and Toby, and spring lambs provide farm animal encounters that particularly delight younger guests. Host Alwena, who runs the pods with family, supplies local recommendations and ensures everything is perfect for guest arrival, often adding complementary touches for those special occasions.
