Inside, the space balances rustic character with genuine comfort. Underfloor heating, a log burner and a full-sized double bed create a cosy atmosphere throughout the seasons, whilst the country-style kitchen and ensuite bathroom make longer stays feel effortless. Thoughtful touches, from welcome cake and continental breakfast provisions to logs supplied for the fire pit and stove, add to the feeling that everything has been properly considered.

Days here move slowly. Mornings begin with birdsong and views across the countryside, whilst evenings are best spent beside the fire pit under dark Monmouthshire skies, listening to owls calling across the fields. The location suits both complete relaxation and exploring further afield. Raglan Castle sits nearby, whilst the market towns of Monmouth, Abergavenny, Brecon and Hay-on-Wye all make excellent day trips. For more active days, guests can head towards the Wye Valley for kayaking, walking trails and mountain hikes through some of Wales’ most impressive landscapes.
