Crugeran, Sarn Meyllteyrn, Pwllheli
Crugeran, Sarn, Pwllheli LL53 8DT
On a working beef, sheep and cereal farm near Sarn Meyllteyrn, where the Llŷn Peninsula remains relatively undiscovered despite its collection of sandy beaches and coastal drama, Crugeran offers five converted barn cottages that operate year-round. The farm sits in the heart of the peninsula, less than four miles from the nearest beach, with Abersoch, Aberdaron and that famously positioned Ty Coch Inn at Porthdinllaen all within easy reach.
The three cottages on the main farm site maintain their agricultural character whilst delivering proper comfort (no pets allowed in these 3 cottages). Llofftstabal occupies the first floor where farm workers once slept, now featuring oak kitchen with granite worktops, wooden plank-effect tiles with underfloor heating, and a log burner (Deri Gadlas & Llofftstabal) for colder months. The space sleeps four across two bedrooms. Ysgubor, the old granary, accommodates seven with wheelchair-friendly ground floor bedroom featuring Victorian brass bed and ensuite with whirlpool bath. Stabal, converted from the old stable, sleeps five with four-poster double downstairs and mixed bedroom upstairs, both with private facilities, ideal for two couples sharing.
Less than a mile away at Beudai Mynachdy, Deri Llŷn and Gadlas deliver more substantial accommodation. The former milking parlour and old granary-stable block sleep ten and fourteen respectively, both featuring private saunas, steam shower cabins, granite-topped kitchens and individual bedroom styling. Open them up together and you’ve space for twenty-four, with communal playing area offering climbing frame, football goals and trampoline. Both properties carry five-star Visit Wales ratings and Walkers Welcome awards. If you’re travelling with your canine companion, dogs are allowed in Deri and Gadlas (at an extra charge).
A welcome pack greets arrivals, whilst the farm’s quarter-mile proximity to Sarn Meyllteyrn delivers village hall (with EV charging point), pottery, two food-serving pubs (within half a mile) and garage with shop. The Llŷn’s beaches unfold in every direction, Abersoch’s yacht-set atmosphere, Aberdaron’s mile-long sandy stretch, Hell’s Mouth for serious surfers, Whistling Sands for the curious. You can take a boat trip from Porth Meudwy, whilst Snowdonia National Park, Portmeirion and multiple castles occupy the hinterland. The farm’s 700-acre operation continues around guests, maintaining that authentic working farm atmosphere whilst providing spacious and homely accommodation, perfect for groups of all sizes.
