Dating back to the sixteenth century, Embo House was once home to the Gordons of Embo before being transformed into the elegant Georgian mansion seen today. Its historic character remains throughout, balanced by comfortable contemporary interiors and a collection of spaces designed for spending time together. Seven bedrooms enjoy sea views, while flexible super-king and twin configurations make the house particularly well suited to families, groups of friends and golfing parties.

Downstairs, a grand dining room seating 16 provides the setting for long dinners and celebrations, complemented by a well-equipped kitchen for self-catering stays. Guests can retreat to the cedar-lined library, relax in the sitting room or head to the whisky bar and games room for pool, drinks and a more informal evening. Catering and housekeeping can also be arranged, including breakfasts and evening meals prepared at the house.

Outside, there is a large hot tub, fire pit, croquet lawn, boules court and golf practice pitching area, while a path leads from the grounds towards beautiful Embo Beach. The surrounding coastline and countryside offer excellent walking, cycling and wildlife watching, with Dornoch itself only a short distance away.

Golf is naturally a major draw. Royal Dornoch is around two minutes away by car, with its eighth hole within walking distance, while several more celebrated Highland links courses can be reached on day trips. Secure club storage and drying facilities make returning from a round straightforward.
