Hawkhow, Glenridding, Penrith CA11 0NG

Perched on the edge of Ullswater, Hawkhow Cottage is a charming, off-grid hideaway that’s perfect for those seeking a private slice of Lake District heaven. Sleeping seven comfortably or eight cosily, this intimate escape is full of character. This inviting cottage offers stunning views of the surrounding fells and a sense of total seclusion. Just like it’s sister property Hawkhow, Hawkhow Cottage invites you to slow down and embrace the simple pleasures of life, whether it’s curling up by the wood burner or watching the sun set over Ullswater.

Upstairs you will find three bedrooms (one king, one double and one twin) and a bathroom. Downstairs there is an additional bedroom (small double), a shower room and a traditional Aga-warmed kitchen, perfect for cooking up delicious meals to enjoy in the galleried dining area. The glass and oak-framed extension provides a large living room with log burning stove.

Outside, you’ll find wood-fired relaxation in the dry sauna, bbq grill, firepit and plenty of space to roam, making it an idyllic base for exploring the nearby walking trails or taking a dip in the lake. Hawkhow Cottage is a hidden gem where you can truly unplug and savour the beauty of the Lakes—perfect for those craving peace, solitude, and unforgettable views. The beauty of Hawkhow Cottage is that it is equally magical all year round. Whether you experience it in spring when the garden is flourishing, summer where the light radiates through the stunning glass facade, autumn where the whole Lake District comes alive in the most amazing colours or winter, where you might even be lucky enough to experience it in the snow. Whatever the weather, you are guaranteed to fall in love with it again and again, eager to return. Discover it for yourself and create your own memories in this one of a kind stay.
