Part of the Hawkhow Estate alongside the stunning Hawkhow Cottage, these two stunning stays are bookable together or separately. Hawkhow, the slightly larger of the two is tucked away in the enchanting Ullswater Valley. It is a one-of-a-kind retreat where wilderness meets tranquillity. Standing proudly amongst nearly four acres of secluded, sloping woodland, the setting couldn’t be more idyllic. This secluded off-grid house offers a truly immersive experience in nature, surrounded by breathtaking views of Ullswater and the surrounding fells. Being in such a timeless location, Hawkhow encourages guests to disconnect from the modern world and reconnect with the rhythms of nature. Think long walks through the surrounding scenery, evenings by the open fire, and uninterrupted stargazing under some of the darkest skies in the UK.
Upstairs there are five bedrooms sleeping ten (two superking, one semi-superking & two twins), making it perfect for both groups of friends or families. The house is served by two bathrooms (one with shower, one with bath) as well as a separate shower room.
The house sleeps up to ten guests across the five well presented bedrooms, boasting stunning lakeside views. It also features a welcoming lounge and a well-equipped kitchen with a four oven AGA. Its rustic charm is paired with special touches, such as the sauna and pool table, catering for all types of guests. Whether you’re here for hiking, wild swimming in Ullswater, or simply soaking up the peace and quiet, Hawkhow is a place to escape, recharge, and experience the Lake District at its most authentic.

Living
The kitchen with four-oven Aga sits next to the dining room with a picture window looking straight out onto the Lake.
The spacious sitting room has a large open fire as well as a pool table, jigsaw table and a games table to keep you occupied. A smaller snug with wood burning stove provides additional space for those who want to escape somewhere quieter.
Outdoors
Guests have shared use of the extensive gardens and grounds, including the sauna. Please note that the garden is steep with drop-offs in places, it has a number of steps and paths that can be extremely slippery, as well as running water courses, ponds and bridges.
