Five miles outside Betws-y-Coed, where a 50-acre working farm meets the eastern edge of Snowdonia National Park, Porth Eryri Glamping occupies three peaceful woodland acres with views that justify its Welsh name, Gateway to Snowdonia. Owners Gethin and Teleri have created four handcrafted cabins named after the surrounding mountains, each built in Wales using sustainable materials and positioned for maximum privacy amongst the trees.

The accommodation splits between two couples’ cabins and two family options. Y Foel Las delivers romantic minimalism through its distinctive A-frame design, with a mezzanine kingsize bedroom accessed via spiral staircase and open-plan living below. Garn Prys follows a similar compact brief for two. The family cabins, Moel Siabod and Tryfan, each sleep six across multiple bedrooms whilst maintaining that handcrafted quality throughout. All four feature split-level layouts, fully equipped kitchens, rainfall walk-in showers, log burners for atmospheric evenings, and Smart TVs for downtime.

The outdoor setup takes things seriously. Every cabin includes its own wood-fired hot tub on a private deck, perfect for stargazing in one of Wales’ protected dark sky areas. There are combination barbecue and pizza ovens, firepits for gathering around, and enough woodland space for children to properly explore whilst parents relax with a glass of wine. Red kites and occasional ospreys fly overhead, reminding you exactly where you are.

The location delivers adventure without effort. Snowdon sits thirty minutes away at Pen y Pass car park, whilst all four Zip World sites occupy similar distances for those seeking adrenaline. Betws-y-Coed village offers shops, restaurants, and the Conwy Valley Railway Museum ten minutes down the road. Swallow Falls, Fairy Glen Gorge, and numerous mountain trails start from nearby, whilst beaches at Barmouth, Llandudno, and Colwyn Bay remain within easy reach. Dogs can’t stay due to the working farm, but thoughtful welcome packs, provided bedding, and genuine Welsh hospitality ensure you arrive to comfort rather than chores.
