The Cowsheds, Chippenham
Good Mondays Farm, Chippenham SN15 4HL
Chippenham is a charming and flourishing market town 13 miles north-east of Bath and 90 minutes from London. Located just off a country road, The Cowsheds are perfectly placed for exploring both Bath & The Cotswolds. They are made up of one large house and a one bedroom cottage, which can be booked together or separately. The Grade II listed building has kept many of its original features, giving it authentic charm throughout. In total, there are five bedrooms, all with private access and super king/king sized beds and ensuite bathrooms.
The design has been carefully considered and comes together beautifully, with highlights such as the vaulted ceiling in the living room from the original milking parlour and a magnificent 20 seater oak dining table. Outside, at the front is a large courtyard lined with ornamental pear trees, and a traditional stone wall. At the rear of the property, accessible from the sitting room, is a small garden and patio which overlooks both the orchard and pony paddocks. This space comes fully equipped with a large gas barbecue and table and chairs for all guests, so you can soak up the surrounding countryside views.
Sleeping
The Cowsheds is comprised of 4 bedrooms and a 1 bedroom cottage, all with en-suite bathrooms. Each of the rooms has a large double bed dressed in Egyptian cotton sheets and a goose down duvet, with a pure wool throw, large smart TV and a cupboard for your belongings. Most of the rooms are equipped with a desk and have a free super-fast internet connection. We also provide a fan and a hairdryer. We also provide up to 2 travel cots and sheets (no charge) if required.
Living
The sitting room has an extremely comfortable double sofa bed and is beautifully furnished with extravagant linens and low level lighting in the beams. The curtains can be drawn across the bar area and windows to ensure plenty of privacy and a restful night’s sleep. There is an additional bath / shower room for guests using the sitting room as a bedroom. This can be accessed via the kitchen / dining room by ducking under the original the beam through the original sliding barn door to be greeted with a decadent cast iron roll top bath fitted with Lefroy Brooks taps, and a separate monsoon shower.
