Easton, Grantham, Lincolnshire NG33 5AP

They say location is everything, when it comes to The Head Gardener’s House, this couldn’t be more true. Standing proudly within the Easton Estate, which has been part of the Cholmeley family since 1561, it is the perfect retreat for those looking for a true escape from it all. In 2001, the family began the careful restoration which has brought Easton and its Walled Gardens back to life, with a love and care for the community and the local environment at the heart of its transformation. The latest addition, new for 2024 is The Head Gardener’s House, sleeping four and tucked away over the river at the top of the kitchen garden. Immerse yourself in this oasis of calm, exploring the gardens through your own secret gate. Should you wish to venture further, The Cholmeley Arms is a charming pub, owned by the estate, and a four mile walk away.

This certainly is a magical place to visit, but you don’t need to take our word for it. After featuring in Country Life magazine in the early 20th century, none other than former US president, Franklin D Roosevelt came to visit. In his words, Easton Estate is “A dream of Nirvana…almost too good to be true”. If that doesn’t convince you to visit, we don’t know what will. It is evident throughout that the Easton Estate and everything within it has been carefully considered, and brought to life through a passion for the local community. Click ‘Visit Website’ to find out more and book your stay at the Head Gardener’s Cottage.
