The Tormaukin, Glendevon

Hidden amongst the beautiful countryside of Glendevon, The Tormaukin is a historic Scottish inn reimagined as an exclusive-use country retreat for groups, celebrations and memorable weekends away. Dating back to the 1720s, the former drovers’ inn is now reserved for one group at a time, giving guests the special experience of having an entire country inn – bedrooms, bar and all – completely to themselves.
Ten individually designed en-suite bedrooms combine old beams and characterful details with modern comforts, accommodating groups of up to 20 guests, with additional beds available for larger parties. Seven bedrooms sit within the original inn, while three adjoining ground-floor Coach House rooms offer easy access and dog-friendly accommodation.
Downstairs, there is plenty of space to gather. The traditional country bar can be stocked to your preferences and even staffed by a private bartender, while the grand dining room centres around a log-burning stove. A cosy snug, bright Garden Room and gentleman’s-club-style games room provide further places to settle in, with billiards, darts, chess, poker and roulette adding to the fun.
Food can be as much a part of the stay as you choose. The well-equipped kitchen allows for self-catering, but most groups opt for some form of in-house dining, with a private chef available for everything from relaxed breakfasts and comforting pub classics to sharing feasts and celebratory Scottish tasting menus. Half-board and fully catered stays can also be arranged.
The Tormaukin’s Glendevon setting provides countryside walks and beautiful scenery straight from the door, while Gleneagles is less than ten minutes away. Stirling and Perth are around 20 minutes away, with both Edinburgh and Glasgow reachable in under an hour.
From milestone birthdays and family gatherings to stag and hen weekends, intimate weddings and corporate retreats, The Tormaukin offers something increasingly rare: the character and atmosphere of a proper old Scottish inn, with the freedom and privacy of having the whole place entirely to yourselves.
